Norwegian oil and gas group StatoilHydro said on Monday it had restarted liquefied natural gas (LNG) production at a plant serving its Snoehvit gas field in the Barents Sea after it a shutdown for repairs.
The plant was shut on March 27 this year.
"We reopened the wells on Saturday afternoon and restarted (LNG production)...on Sunday," spokesman Sverre Kojedal said.
StatoilHydro has warned that Snoehvit, Europe's first LNG export facility, would produce at only about 60 percent capacity until 2009, during an extended start-up period during which the company has struggled to overcome technical problems.
Kojedal repeated that production would be at about 60 percent.
